One of the top prospects for the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft, Colby Barlow cannot be stopped. He has unmatched speed that will make him an offence threat at the major junior level. Every time he gets the puck on his stick in his own zone, he possesses the skill to take it end-to-end by himself. To compliment his skating abilities, his puck control is also on a level of its own. He can get around even the best defenders with ease, faking them out with elaborate moves or simply skating around them. His control of the puck at top speed is a key aspect of his game. He is hard to knock off the puck and keeps it on his stick to create unique scoring opportunities.

At 6’1,190 lbs, Barlow’s size jumps out at you. Most players with a similar skillset don’t also possess Barlow’s size. At 15-years old, most prospects need to grow and add muscle to excel at the next level but luckily for Barlow, he already has the size necessary to complete at the next level. He uses a combination of his size and puck-handling abilities to come away with the puck doing board battles.

In order to find the back of the net to the extent that the Toronto Marlboros forward does, you have to have a good shot. Barlow can score goals from seemingly anywhere in the offensive zone. There are no shortage of ways in which Barlow can find twine. Whether it's by using his elite wrist shot with his high-end release and accuracy, or by wiring home a one-timer with a vicious slapshot, Barlow is a player you can never afford to leave open. When he’s not beating goaltenders with his shot, he is a very powerful playmaker. To aid in his playmaking, he uses his speed to his advantage. Barlow uses his speed to draw defenders in and quickly change directions on the dime to give himself an open lane to pass the puck out.
