Cooper Lee is a physically strong and skilled forward who can be elusive to defenders.  These traits have allowed him to be a threat at the Triple A level and have helped him grow to potentially take a step to the next level.  To add to these offensive skills, Lee can excel in a strong defensive game as he has a team first mindset paired with strong defensive awareness.  He is a patient player and will tend to avoid mindless mistakes as he does not rush the play in his mind.  Lee is a smooth skater who is strong on his feet which allows him to use his edge work to his advantage allowing him to create plays and become a threat all over the ice.  Lee works hard on the forecheck to try and win the puck back and his elusiveness gives him many opportunities to steal the puck from the opposition.  He protects the puck well which makes him difficult to contain in one-on-one battles, but Lee can occasionally get himself into trouble when entering the offensive zone.  Lee can also improve on shooting the puck more rather than always looking for a pass first so he can capitalize on more high danger scoring chances.  Overall, Lee is a strong player who has strong potential and should be selected in this year’s OHL Priority Selection. He should bloom into a nice two-way winger that a coach would love to have.
