With a bomb of a shot David Green is a big offensive defenceman with the ability to impact the game. In the offensive zone David is a known threat with the puck on his stick. His shoot is dangerous from everywhere on the ice. It’s incredibly hard and something no one wants to be in front of but also quite accurate. He cycles the puck well from the blueline and walks the blueline without issues. Due to his offensive capabilities, David plays on his teams powerplay and is a valued member from the point offering high offensive talent from the backend. David is smart and pinches when he thinks is best but doesn’t get caught out of position. Defending in transitions he uses his body to keep the puck to the outside and not allow opponents into center ice and breaks up odd man rushes using his positioning and iq. Breaking out of his own end, David makes very strong first passes and rarely gives up the puck. He can join the rush however he does need to work on his skating as it’s not quite next level. In his own zone David is smart and contains the puck to the outside. He uses his body to get into shooting and passing lanes. David offers a touch of physicality to his game and is not afraid to get to the dirty areas or lay a hit if he needs to. As he learns to use his body better and enhances his skating, David Green is a player to watch for as a steal later on in the draft.
