One of the goalies invited to the GTHL Top Prospect Game, Drew Gaulton will likely be one of the higher drafted goaltenders at the 2022 OHL draft. Gaulton was able to lead his team to a pair of wins during the OHL cup tournament, with a 2-0-0 record and a 1.83 GAA. Gaulton plays a similar game to Maple Leafs goalie, Jack Campbell, with a calm demeanor and very intelligent game. Gaulton is someone who will battle extremely hard, and uses his high athleticism to make the big saves when the team needs him most. Thanks to Gaulton’s larger size, he is a goalie who would be able to take up a lot of net, however he would really benefit from adding another couple inches, making him even harder to score against when he goes down. Should and when Gaulton gets drafted, he will likely have to take another season or two of development before stepping into the OHL, as any goalie would. From there, his future is in his hands. Goalies are total voodoo, and Gaulton could go from either a backup to a starter in the OHL depending on the work he is able to put in to get him there.
