A great defensive prospect, Duncan Schneider has tremendous upside. Schneider plays a traditional, stay at home defenseman style of play, and plays the role well. Schneider's size makes it challenging for forwards to get by him and his long stick, as well as can deal some serious damage along the boards when making a move on the puck handler. Schneider has incredible confidence, a trait you simply cannot coach into a player. Schneider embraces the biggest moments of the game and is never afraid to try and play the hero. Schneider has a stellar shot from near the blueline and is able to walk the line exceptionally. Not only does Schneider's' shot come off with his stick with a hard velocity, but it is incredibly accurate for a young defenseman. A defenseman with a shot as well developed as Schneider's is a major asset in boosting his draft stock potential. Schneider's game does need some work. Schneider's skating ability lacks in speed and acceleration when moving in transition which can lead to odd-man breakaways for the opposition. If Schneider can work on his ability to move without the puck as well as continuing to shoot the puck well, he will become a solid defensive prospect in the 2021 OHL Draft.
