Jacob Anselmo is mainly an offensively focused player.  He can score goals due to his quick and skillful shot to find the back of the net well, but he excels mostly as a playmaker.  He enters the zone well carrying the puck and controls the play around him upon entry.  Anselmo will shoot from anywhere but if he does not feel he is in a prime shooting position, this shot will be taken to generate a rebound for his teammates to finish the job.  These playmaking abilities are Anselmo’s greatest strength, but it will be hard to find him trying to be too creative and giving the puck away, as he is a responsible player with the puck.  With quick hands and a high hockey IQ, Anselmo can determine the best time to make a move without giving away the puck in a dangerous area and can create space for his teammates.  Jacob works well in tight and does not let the pressure get to him as he is able to get out of these tight situations quite well.  He is relied upon in a pinch when the team needs a goal as he is an unselfish player and will play in any role necessary to ensure that his team scores when they need to.  Jacob is a clear leader on the ice, and it will be intriguing to watch him further develop his game in the coming years.
