There is a lot to like about James Petrovski’s game and it all starts with his demeanor on the ice. Petrovski exudes confidence which is the first thing that scouts take notice of, even when he doesn’t have the puck on his stick. He is a calm player who always appears to have control of the game. You wouldn’t be able to tell by watching him play whether his side was up by two or down by 10. He's the type of defenceman who coaches dream about having on their team. He can be relied upon in all situations and can play top-minutes every night.

Petrovski is a big presence at both ends of the ice. His size aids him when pressuring puck carriers and battling for pucks in his own zone. To go along with his high offensive skill set, Petrovsky plays an intelligent all-around game starting in his own zone. The Titans defender plays a strong positional game and uses his strength and defensive stick to strip opponents of the puck.

Offensively James Petrovsky is just as dominant of a presence as he is in his own zone. His skating style is smooth and while not overtly quick, he is elusive and uses his long stride and power to go from end-to-end. He also possesses a dangerous strong shot and uses his vision and ability to read the game to his advantage. He is always in the right place to receive a pass or find loose pucks.

Overall, James Petroski is a highly skilled and complete player who has the tools necessary to become an OHL player. He may even see his name as one of the first twenty taken off the board on draft day.
