A stay at home defender, Jonah Ziskinder is one of the hardest players to play against in minor hockey. Built like a powerlifter, Jonah is a hard hitting defender who plays the body and uses his strength effectively. He consistently finishes his checks and will go to the dirty areas to come out with the puck nearly every time. When defending one on one, Jonah will use his strength to body opponents off the puck and doesn’t get beat very often. In transition Jonah makes solid first passes and can use his body to protect the puck if he decides to carry it. When in the offensive zone Jonah uses his wicked strength to shoot one of the hardest shots in his age group. He cycles the puck well but is working on developing his playmaking skills as he is a defensive minded player who often makes safe passes which don’t generate high danger chances. Jonah is a very effective penalty killer who blocks shots and breaks up developing plays. He is known to be a phenomenal teammate who cheers on and supports his teammates no matter what. As he develops his two-way game and grows, he has the tools to be a shut down defender at the next level.
