Jonas Schmidt is one of the hardest working players to come through Waterloo’s program. Unfortunately, since this is Schmidt’s first year with the team, he has fallen below many scouts' radar due to limited playing time this season. Jonas has always played a year up in AA programs in his hometown. Jonas has a high ceiling, and he is dedicated to the game, putting in a lot of time both on and off the ice. He is an agile skater, with a quick release, and a powerful, accurate shot. Jonas is improving his pace so that he can compete as a strong 200ft player at a high-end speed. It will be interesting to see how Schmidt would transition to the next level, especially given his history of playing against older age groups, it should be a familiar process to him. Schmidt is an effective teammate in all zones and given his strong work ethic, he will put in his best effort to be able to smoothly advance to the next stage.
