An offensive minded two-way defender Justin Huynh is an eye-catching player with one of the highest hockey IQ’s in his age group. Justin is incredibly smart with and without the puck. He knows what to do with it when it’s on his stick, he has wicked vision that allows him to make passes no one else sees both in his own zone breaking out and the offensive zone. In the offensive zone with the puck Justin has great shot utilization, he doesn’t shoot unless he sees a good lane and would rather hold the puck for an extra second then take an easily blocked shot. Justin makes great decisions as well pinches when it makes sense but doesn’t overcommit. In his own zone Justin is responsible positionally and is good at breaking up developing plays and turning them around for an odd man rush. Justin has a good transitional game; he has great first passes but can also carry the puck out. Huynh is working on finding another gear speed wise, though he’s a smooth skater he is looking at finding the next level speed wise. Justin quarterbacks his teams powerplay and played an integral role in its success. He did also play on the penalty kill as well. quarterbacking the powerplay of one of the best teams in Ontario, Justin has all the skills to be a future QB for a team at the next level.
