One of the two 99ers goalies, Justin Robinson just returned from the OHL cup with a 1.31 GAA and finished the Alliance regular season with a 1.46 GAA. This saw Robinson posting a total .956 SV% against some pretty strong teams in the OHL cup, proving that he can compete with the best of them. Robinson is very calm in his net, and is very good at controlling his rebounds and freezing the play. He is also able to see the play develop before anything really happens. Robinson tries to maintain a more laid back and easy to get along with personality, and is known for being pretty competitive and hard working around game time. Robinson’s tendencies help him compare to someone like Carey Price, who is also known for his overall controlled and calm demeanor in the net. Robinson has really been focusing on playing to his size, as he sees it as a way to make ways easier on himself when making saves, especially at the higher levels where he needs to be playing to his size, instead of playing smaller than what he is. Robinson feels confident about the 2022 OHL draft, where he feels he could get into a lineup rather quickly, and then it is just a matter of adjusting to the game. Expect Robinson to be amongst some of the top goalies drafted.
