One of the hardest working forwards on the Kings roster, Justin Tavares wears his heart on his sleeve and comes out to play every night. Tavares is an extremely competitive player, and pushes himself to be the best during all facets of the game, and plays extremely tenaciously. The sheer tenacity that Tavares displays allows him to go deep in puck battles with a high win rate, making him an excellent option in a grinding role. Thanks to his hard play style, Tavares is very effective when it comes to creating offensive chances for his teammates, forcing the puck free and pushing the opposing players away to create more space. With this, Tavares would benefit from working on his skating and speed more, as this would allow him to become a very effective forechecker, and thus allowing him to apply further pressure or make it to the corner for a battle even faster. With the 2022 OHL draft coming up, Tavares is looking to be a solid mid round option for an OHL team, who could end up utilizing him as a strong, grinding forward, who can work to force the play in the offensive zone while expecting a full game out of him every night. His style of play would probably best suit him on a teams bottom 6 as third or fourth line guy that can be used against a teams better lines, wearing them down and matching them in battles.
