One of the fastest players in his age group Kevin Heat has loads of potential to be a star winger at the next level. Kevin has killer speed and can break away from defenders like no others, his strides are powerful as well as smooth. He uses this speed to generate chances out of nowhere and averages over a breakaway a game. Using his speed he is able to create space for himself and his teammates as he is always moving and can explode at any time. His shot is top-notch as he’s a prolific goal scorer. It’s dangerously hard and criminally accurate which is a deadly combination for a sniper. He scores frequently on the breakout as with his speed he usually creates odd-man rushes however he can score just about anytime the puck is on his stick. Heat also offers a gritty side, utilizing his size to force opponents off the puck. He forechecks hard and hits down low in the zone coming out of the corner with the puck. In his own zone, Heat is positionally sound and breaks up developing plays. Heat plays both the penalty kill and powerplay as he offers a scoring touch on the penalty kill and is lights out on the powerplay. Kevin is still working on getting his hands to the next level and like most young forwards is learning how to play a full 200-foot game however as he develops these he shows tons of promise to be an impact player at the next level.
