Grey-Bruce Highlanders
Often described as more of a late-bloomer, right-shooting defenseman, Logan Burnham, has improved his game a lot. Burnham is an extremely offensive-minded defenseman. He is fast, strong and very good with his edges, and is one of Grey-Bruce’s top 2 defenders. As stated, Burnham has extreme offensive upside, he is very comfortable playing upfront and joining the rush. Due to his offensive style, however, Burnham tends to “forget” the defensive zone sometimes and could use some work with his decision-making, though his offence makes up for it. He is a player that is known to pace the team in practice and push them to be their best. Burnham likes to make it difficult to play against him as well, as he brings a very solid physical style of play to his game. He is a defender that you do not want to match up with. He is very accountable and works hard, and also serves as the quarterback for the first power-play unit. He has asked to play forward on a few occasions, however, he would be a tremendous loss on the back end if he left it. Burnham is a defenseman who could push his way into the higher rounds of the 2022 draft, where he could develop into a solid offensive threat from the blue line, or a great two-way player if he decides to work on his defensive abilities more. Definitely a player who should get a look leading up to the draft.
