Left shooting defenseman, Luke Tuin, is set to turn some heads leading up to the draft. Of all his skills, Tuin’s skating is probably his best trait. He’s fast and great on his edges, and uses this to his advantage to get himself out of trouble or use it to go coast to coast. Tuin is a strong and physical defenseman who will punish the opposing team if they get too close. Right now, Tuin’s biggest focus has been on his stickhandling as well as keeping his head up when he’s skating, a very important trait as he gets older, because in the OHL, he will get caught for that. Tuin is described as a great kid, and is very coachable, asking lots of questions and always looking to improve. Tuin is also starting to develop some leadership qualities, and is a player that will do as he is told, no questions asked. It is uncertain where Tuin will be drafted, but he could develop into a pretty decent two way defender who can join the rush and possibly even lead it with his speed, or hang out on the blue line or go deep into the corners, using his strength to push his opponents around.
