Continuing on his upward trend, Owen Redmond continues to be heavily relied on by his team in any situation. Formerly, Redmond was extremely versatile, allowing him to slide back to defense if needed. Since last season, Redmond has been able to solidify himself as a key playmaker on the 73s U18 roster, leading the team in assists. Redmond has continued to improve on his already phenomenal speed, which allows him to access another gear to blow past his opponents. Redmond has an amazing work ethic and plays a complete 3 period game every night while being relied on to handle both penalty killing and power play scenarios. This reliability has given his coaching staff tons of confidence in him, which will only further aid his development in the future. Redmond displays a very physical game as well and packs a relentless forecheck, his compete level is through the roof. As the 2022 OHL draft looms closer, watch for Redmond as he continues to improve on all the aspects of his game, which could help solidify him as a high to mid-round OHL pick. As he reaches the OHL level, Redmond can be projected as a reliable forward who can slide up and down the lineup, who will battle hard to keep himself in the top 6, while putting in 110% every game. It is likely that Redmond will take another 1-2 years of development depending on the team that drafts him, but with his work ethic, he could really explode and get himself into a lineup sooner than anticipated, just as he has done with Kemptville and formerly with the Upper Canada Cyclones.
