Over the course of the season, van de Ven is looking to work on his shooting ability, which would help him take the next step towards becoming a more two way player. Someone like van de Ven would be highly sought after in and around the middle rounds of the draft due to his defensive zone play, with the ability to break the puck out efficiently is normally something a team would love in a big defenseman.
