One of the most terrifying forces in the ETA, defenseman Reed Gee is the typical old-school defenseman. Gee’s biggest attribute is his size and how he uses it. Gee is often described around the league as the hardest hitting player. Gee is dominant through his physicality to a game changing degree, and is more than capable of flattening an unsuspecting winger coming down the wing. Despite being a heavy hitter, Gee is extremely mobile, and has an incredibly high offensive ability to go along with his shot, which is amongst the hardest in the league. Gee has the ability to play both sides of the puck, with an amazing shutdown ability, which has landed him on the penalty killing unit in past seasons. Formerly, Gee also served as the captain in Kingston prior to coming to Quinte, and has shown a high adaptability, being able to mesh extremely well with his new squad. Gee is someone who accepts his role on the team, and is capable of taking a lot of verbal heat, while translating the comments to his play. With the 2022 OHL draft coming up, Gee is hard to place. His play should land him higher in the draft, but sometimes teams see a hard hitter like Gee as only that. Gee should definitely go in the top 5 rounds though, where he can develop into a solid, heavy hitting top 4 guy for his draft team. It’s not every day you see a big defenseman that can couple hard hitting and mobility quite the same way Gee does.
