Having been named to the GTHL top prospects game in January, Ryan Castle is presenting himself as one of the better defensemen in the G during his first season with the Kings. Castle brings in some high value at the 2022 OHL draft, thanks to being a right shot defenseman, but this does not take away from his game in the slightest. Castle is best seen as an Alex Pietrangelo type of player, presenting an amazing two-way game with exceptional playmaking abilities. Castle is also an ultra competitive player, which will serve him well moving towards the draft. With Castle being a two-way player, this will help him tremendously, as it will allow him to log big minutes for his team by being relied on in numerous situations. Being able to provide solid defense, while also bringing an offensive impact as well will serve him well. Coming up to the draft, Castle will likely be going towards the higher end of the middle rounds, with his top prospects game appearance helping to fuel his draft stock further.
