Right shooting Sam Corcoran is a very versatile forward, being able to transition between the three forward positions. Corcoran plays a very high IQ game, being able to find the open many relatively easily on the ice, and can do this numerous times throughout a game with ease. Despite his smaller stature, Corcoran has no issue fighting his way into the dirtier areas and corners to retrieve a puck, which most of the time, he ends up doing. Corcoran is capable of playing a strong game in the d-zone, o-zone and neutral zone, making him a very great all around player to have around on the roster. As well as this, Corcoran has a deceptively strong shot, which helped him serve as the team's leading point better last season. Corcoran is also a player who tends to lead by example, an excellent trait to have in a young player who is looking to make the jump to the next step. Comparison wise, Brendan Gallagher seems like a pretty good comparable, both smaller players with no issues going into the rough areas and are leaders on the ice. While it is uncertain where Corcoran could be drafted, he should not be passed on the whole time, because the skillset he brings could be extremely valuable to his potential draft team
