Samuel Closs, though a seemingly late bloomer, has cemented himself as one of the top goaltenders in the ETA. Closs already has a case for himself, as he is starting to challenge for the starting role on Kingston, which could possibly give the Junior Gaels a very solid 1A 1B tandem. All of his abilities could use work, however, he is a pretty good puck handler, and is good at tracking rebounds. Closs also sports a very good glove, however he could use some work on his consistency. Closs is a bit more vocal than most of his teammates, but he is a player that needs to come out of his shell more, as well as work on his confidence, something that he can seemingly lack at times. Closs is a goalie who competes well and is very coachable, but he could benefit greatly from becoming a student of the game and analyzing the other players in the league to determine and anticipate the play. Overall, Closs is a pretty good goalie, he just has a lot of kinks that he needs to smooth out if he wants to take his game to the OHL level. Closs certainly could have a case for the 2022 OHL draft, as with age, his confidence will grow and he will continue to improve, possibly boosting his draft stock throughout next season
