A top defender in Alliance hockey, Sean Demerest has come into his own over the past few seasons. Sean is strong all over the ice and can be relied upon in all three zones. He is very consistent and every game you know what to expect. In the offensive zone his shot is very good. He has a strong release that is deceptive and fools goalies. His shot is hard and useful no matter where he is in the zone. He has above average playmaking skill and cycles the puck on the powerplay without breaking a sweat. In transition Sean has a very strong first pass and though he stays at home most of the time can carry the puck as well. His skating has made strides over the past few years and as he learns to trust it more he will be even more deadly in transition. In his own zone he forces the puck to the outside and reads plays well. He gets in front of shots and lays the body in the corners to win puck battles. Sean wears an ‘A’ for his team and is a known leader in the locker room. As Sean continues to fill out he has the potential to be an elite two-way defender at the next level.
