Stephen Michalek is one of the top goalies in the American leagues. He is a standard left catching goalie with lots of upside. He is extremely competitive and poised, while also being very calm and level headed in his net when times get tough. Michalek is one of those goalies that gets himself locked into a game and then suddenly becomes a very hard player to go up against. He is one of those goalies that, every time he gets hit with the puck, he just gets better and better, making it extremely difficult for the opposing teams to score on him. He travels well, and is a very good top of the crease goalie. He is very good at making the first stop, but can also make the second, third and fourth shots too if need be. Michalek is very humble and a very hard worker, a very coachable player. He is a great locker room presence as well and is well liked by his teammates. Right now, Michalek is working on his puck playing ability, to help turn defense into offense and make it easier on his defensemen, while also continuing to work on his skating. Michalek is a solid goaltender in the 2022 OHL draft, and could be a prime candidate for a team to take a look at.
