Tanner Winegard is a big right-handed defender. Winegard has skill and does a lot of things really well. He plays a solid two-way game and is not afraid to use his size to act as a shutdown player. Tanner utilizes his long reach, crisp passing, and heavy shot to generate offense from the back end. Like many players of this size, Winegard could improve on his overall quickness. He is a great all around player that doesn’t show many weaknesses, but he is always working to strengthen his game. Winegard has a strong foundation to build from and with increased speed, he will only become more dangerous. Tanner is a large defender that has strong potential to be a superior defenseman at the next stage.
