One of the top goalies for the 2022 OHL draft, Montreal born Vincent Ouellet is simply a goalie sensation. Throughout his career, Ouellet has always played at the highest level, and is currently dominating the HEO U18 league as a rookie goaltender, which has earned him a spot as an honourable mention on the top 50 prospects list. Ouellet has his sights set on juniors, and is targeting both the OHL and QMJHL. Ouellet is an extremely athletic goalie, with an amazing skating ability and great anticipation. Ouellet displays a high mental ability, as he plays with a lot of confidence and is great at staying focused and concentrated. He does not get rattled. Ouellet is very positionally sound, and has great rebound control, with the ability to shovel them away to the safer areas of the ice. Physically, Ouellet displays a lot of Fleury-like qualities, being able to use his athleticism to stop pucks from every angle, but mentally he displays a lot of traits akin to Carey Price, due to his calmer and more composed nature. Ouellet brings a very positive attitude to the rink, is very vocal, and is very coachable. His work ethic is best displayed in his off-ice activities, as not only is he in the gym five days a week with his training and eating extremely healthy, but he maintains a perfect GPA in school and is an honours student. Ouellet is currently working on his stickhandling ability, which when perfected, will allow him to act as a third defenseman for his team. OHL wise, Ouellet is amongst the top goalies available, so expect to see him going high amongst the other players at his position. His ability to compete in top tier tournaments like the Chowder Cup, the Meltdown, and the Montreal Top Tier will all help him move further, as they prove he is a goalie who can compete in various scenarios against a wide array of players. Ouellet could end up becoming one of the top OHL level goaltenders during his prime, and thanks to his solid resume, he should be given full confidence by his draft team early on, possibly securing a position on the team within the first year.
