Coming to Canada no more than a year ago, Xin Tan has really been able to step in and look right at home on the ice. Tan is extremely calm and collected on the ice, allowing him to stay in position without getting too frazzled. Tan has an amazing skating ability, being both fast and just being an overall smooth skater. Tan has a lot of patience and amazing on ice vision, allowing him to anticipate plays ahead of time, and then prepare for them as they unfold. Tan’s game is a two-way style of game, being both a contributor offensively and defensively as well. Tan’s offensive production helped him put up an impressive 8 point outing at the PSI Canadiens Cup, which led all defensemen in scoring, and beat out some of the top forwards as well. Tan’s wicked shot is definitely not something you want to get in front of either. Tan’s defensive game is no joke either, as he is a defensemen that very seldom lets someone pass, and often makes it a challenge to get around him. These qualities will help shape Tan into an amazing young defensive threat for years to come. As for now, expect to see Tan suit up for Team Canada Red at the upcoming PSI All-Star Challenge, where he will expect to be a key contributor in the team's success, which could even lead to a championship win.
