Israeli forward, Yann Raskin, has only been playing in Canada for approximately 3 years. This season is his first year at the AAA level, and even though play has mostly been put to a pause due to COVID-19 regulations, Yann has shown some impressive improvements. Yann shows similarities to talented Israel-born player, David Levin, except Raskin’s skating is much stronger than Levin’s was at this point. Raskin is a very fast skater that has skilled hands and has a high hockey sense. With this being his first year at this level, Yann’s ultimate kryptonite will be if he is able to fit in and transition to a AAA program in just one year. Even though he has a lot of potential and is very skilled, it can be overwhelming, not only in a U16 year, but also with minimal playing because of government restrictions. He is a player that would really make an impact mid-season and hopefully this year, there will be a season so he is able to start turning heads. Raskin is taking advantage of the situation and continues to work hard on the ice every day at Victus Academy in hopes to become the smart, high-end player he knows he can be in the OHL.
