With eyes set for the back of the net, Sam McCue is a threat to score on any given shift. McCue is a strong player around the net, able to bury the puck numerous ways. McCue is able to use his scoring touch to tip shots in traffic, beat goaltenders one-on-one on the break, or score with a simple wrister. An elite scorer, McCue “wows” spectators and scouts alike, as he puts on a scoring clinic on a routine basis. McCue can truly score from anywhere on the ice, equipped with an amazing shot, McCue is always a threat when the puck is on the end of his stick. With a high motor, McCue plays out the full duration of his shifts with a tenacity and passion some can only hope to emulate. McCue's drive allows him to force scoring opportunities for himself or make a play for his linemates off of turnovers or purely by outworking his matchup. McCue does have some development needed to become effective at the next level. McCue needs to work on his overall skating ability as the pace of the junior level would give the young forward troubles with his current skating ability. With improvement to his skating McCue could become a strong player at the next level, and could lead to the continuation of his goal scoring habit onwards into his career.
