A phenomenal athlete, Ty Campbell has the potential to become a top prospect at the next level. Campbell plays a strong stay at home defensive game, able to protect his zone at a high level. Campbell is a sharp player with a high hockey IQ. Campbell makes a great first pass, able to extend tape to tape opportunities into legitimate scoring opportunities. Campbell uses his high IQ to make the smart decision, moving the puck in the right direction in order to find the best scoring chance on the ice. Campbell works on his game tirelessly, never quitting on a shift. Campbell takes the sport seriously and uses his drive to grow as a player. Campbells high motor drives him into making physical plays on the puck in order to gain control and begin pushing it in transition. Campbell's physical presence is not the only way he succeeds on defense, his stick checking ability is second to none. Able to move the puck off of forwards sticks, and gain control for himself or his linemates, Campbell is incredibly hard to get past. Campbells ability to play the angles at his age is also something of note. Able to read a play and move his body in order to make an effort on the puck, positioning himself for a blocked shot, or to take away passing lanes. Campbell's well polished game only raises his draft stock as he continues to grow and develop as a player. Campbell is a prospect to watch in the future as his game is ready for the next level.
