Kaiden Khayat is one of the smartest defensemen you’ll find out there. Having an extremely high hockey IQ, Khayat excels with the intangibles. He plays with a ton of intensity, being an all head, all heart kind of guy. Khayat’s comparable is someone like Doug Gilmour but as a defenseman, being a highly physical, gritty shutdown guy, who will absolutely punish the opposition if they try to set up a screen. Khayat is a penalty killing specialist as well, making him a valuable member of any team. Offensively, Khayat is great at holding the line as well as being able to generate offense from the point. He consistently kicks off the offense from the defensive zone thanks to his first pass, and is always looking for the stretch pass to set up his teammates. With July approaching, catch Khayat next as he joins Team Canada Red at the PSI All-Star Challenge, where his defensive approach will be a big part of the team's endeavors.
