A defensive unit's worst nightmare come true, Alex Assadourian is a terror when attacking the goal. An incredibly hard worker on his craft, Assadourian propels his York Simcoe Express squad from above average, to top tier production on the offensive end. With great tenacity, Assadourian attacks the puck with an intensity unmatched on the ice. Already a top forward in the 05’ draft class, Assadourian comes equipped with fantastic puck skill as well as an engine that nobody can compete with. His relentless hunger for the puck is unmatched and quite frankly unseen. Along with his phenomenal drive, Assadourian has a tremendous skillset. With or without the puck, Assadourian's offensive ability is in a league of his own as he is a legitimate threat to score in any situation while coming on for his shift. Assadourian's non-stop onslaught play style is capped off with his fantastic ability to gain and maintain control of the puck. Assadourian is more than comfortable mixing it up on the inside or along the boards, able to fight through the scrum and come out with the puck ready to make a play. Assadourian is also incredibly gifted in terms of puck protection, able to play through contact while handling the puck, and able to make plays through traffic at an elite level. Assadourian's high motor makes him dangerous on the forecheck as well as the penalty kill as he refuses to quit on a play, hounding the puck for the entire duration of his shift. Assadourian's amazing skillset coupled with an impressive work ethic/personal drive is what makes him one of the most sought after talents in this draft. Assadourian will likely be an early selection in the 2021 OHL Draft and will look to continue his high paced play style into the junior level.
