A high offense forward coming from the Clarington Toros, Blake Wright could be a fine addition to any team's prospect pool. Wright is a guy who really likes to use his shot, but also likes to make big plays to set up his teammates as well. Wright’s skating ability is his main standout feature, as he can use his blazing speed to shoot past defenders, but he also uses it to compliment his two-way play as well. Wright also displays great on ice vision and a very quick release on his shot. Wright has been working on keeping his feet moving in the defensive zone, anticipating chips, and trying to be a bit more physical along the wall as well. Wright is a very level headed player, and he doesn’t tend to get rattled during a losing game, instead he maintains more of a calm attitude and leads by example through this. Wright’s skill set has really helped him find a comparable in Mitch Marner, who like him, is a speedy winger with an impressive two-way game, as well as great passing and shooting abilities. Wright is excited about the draft, however he is planning to take some time to bulk up and grow further, as with the bigger game in the OHL being more physical, he may struggle to keep up. But, once he is able to bulk up further, Wright could step in as a solid middle 6 forward, who can be relied on during special teams situations, and can be trusted to put up decent numbers 5 on 5 as well.
