The Prospects by Sports Illustrated Internship Program

Now accepting applications for roles in Sports Media, Sports Marketing, Event Management and Journalism.

As skilled as they come, Mathieu Paris is no stranger to making big plays for his team. With no offensive skill outside of his wheelhouse, Paris is a threat whenever he comes on for a shift. A passionate and dedicated player, Paris has a sleek playstyle that showcases his elite level talent well. Paris is a pure playmaker, able to find his linemates regardless of their location on the ice. Paris has fantastic hands and is able to generate scoring chances for himself and others after dangling his way through the defense and finding lanes towards the net. Due to his amazing ability to handle the puck, Paris easily cruises by players in one-on-one situations. While Paris is primarily a facilitator, his ability to shoot the puck is at a high level. Paris can find openings in between the posts well and leaves no doubt when he lets a shot rip. Paris is strong on the faceoff dot, able to win draws in favor of his team, while making heads up decisions depending on the situation of the game. One of the only knocks against Paris’ game is his level of intensity. Paris needs to find ways to become an improved physical force on the ice to bring his game to a complete package. Paris is a highly touted prospect that has unbelievable ability, and with his continuously growing bag of tricks, it will be no time at all before we see Mathieu Paris lighting it up at the junior level.
