Comparable to a goalie like Tampa Bay Lightning and former Vezina winning goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy, left catching Ben Hrebik is one of the top goalies in the 2022 OHL draft. Hrebik is an extremely athletic goalie who plays baseball and soccer. Hrebik is a fast goalie and moves really well on his feet and when he drops down he takes up a lot of the net. Hrebik is an ultra competitive goalie who has a knack for reading the play and anticipating the next move, so he is almost always in position. Hrebik is an extremely hard worker both on and off the ice and can be found working out in his off time. Hrebik also has pretty good stick handling, a bit of a rarity amongst goalies of the age group. Hrebik is a quieter player, but is extremely popular in the locker room and can always be seen with a smile on his face. Hrebik’s work ethic and good play has even attracted the attention of some GTHL teams, however Hrebik is comfortable where he is playing in Halton. Hrebik is expected to go higher regarding goalies, and ranks somewhere around the top 3 of the age group. For any team looking for a big, competitive goalie who works hard every night, Hrebik would be an excellent option and could prove to be a player that could be hard to pass up on.
