Confidence is key for playmakers with creativity and Colin Langstaff fits the bill. Colins ability to be one of the most creative players with the puck in his age group stems from wicked puck control. He is a wizard who can do just about anything he wants with the puck no matter what the situation is. In tight spaces, he excels using his agility and hands to find room and break out, and when he has room his vision and hockey IQ is off the charts with the ability to make passes no one sees coming. In the neutral zone, Colin uses his speed to carry the puck in and beat defenders and when he’s one on one the defender never has a chance. On the powerplay, he uses his creativity and extra space to create plays and put up tons of points. Sometimes Colin tries to do too much with the puck but as a young skilled player he doesn’t let this hinder his confidence and with experience he’ll continue to learn when to beat players with his hands and when to protect the puck and use his speed to blow-by. In his own zone, he is solid positionally and forces the play to the outside, he’s smart and watches for backdoor plays breaking them up before they even get started. As he continues to develop Colin Langstaff has the potential to be a must-see OHL player.
