Serving as the captain for the A/P Raiders, left shooting centreman Ethan MacDonald, is one of the top offensive talents in the ETA. MacDonald is a high octane presence up front, bringing both a powerful shot and quick release, making him a serious scoring threat for his opponents. As well as this, MacDonald also brings a very good passing ability to his game as well, making it so an opponent can’t see the play unfolding and whether he is going to shoot or pass. MacDonald is a fast player, and plays a very physical game. Thanks to his big frame, MacDonald also has a great puck protection aspect to his game, a very helpful attribute for any player. MacDonald has a high hockey IQ, and is capable of reading the play well, and anticipating future plays. MacDonald, being the captain, brings a leadership presence to his team, and plays with a very “team first” attitude. On the improvement side of things, MacDonald has been working on his defensive game, helping him to develop a more two way style of play. Overall, MacDonald is looking like a very solid, high round talent in the 2022 OHL draft. Bringing size and skill to his game, MacDonald could see himself transitioning nicely into a similar role at a higher level. He could really work on everything he currently is further and possibly develop into a very lethal two way forward at the next level.
