The copy paste definition of a power forward, Jack Birkbeck is a right shot, hard nosed forward. A high compete level and a fearlessness unlike most players his age Jack will challenge anyone in all the dirty hard to play areas of the ice. Jack is very smart and knows the importance of being tough on both ends of the ice. He will aggressively defend in his own end and look to break up plays and quickly break out. When he has the puck in transition he uses his large frame and pure strength to protect the puck and drive a play offensively. He can cut to the slot and middle of the ice without hesitation and with his aforementioned high end shot put the puck behind the goalie. Jack, like most young gritty power forwards, is actively developing his skating which will only continue to develop him as a player both offensively, defensively and how he plays as a power forward altogether. Opponents will find out quickly, if you make the mistake of just seeing him as a grinder and don’t respect his playing ability he will put points up all over the game sheet, and this will continue as he transitions to the next level.
