An absolute giant for the age group, Jaedon Holloway comes in at a whopping 195 lbs and around the 6’1-6’2 mark, making him one of the biggest players in the draft. What is even more terrifying is the fact that Holloway is known for being a big, strong, and extremely physical defenseman. This essentially makes him the last person you want between you and the goalie because you likely aren’t getting up once he has you lined up. This helps to make Holloway a very imposing player in his own zone, allowing him to clear the net front with ease and bully the opponents in the corners. This is not surprising, as Holloway’s favorite player is Ryan Reaves, which explains a lot of why he plays the way he does. As he looks to take the next step, Holloway should look to improve his footwork further, making him much more mobile in both zones, which could help both sides of his game. However, if he chooses to stick to the being big and physical route, Holloway possibly develops into a Radko Gudas or Zach Bogosian type of player, making him a defenseman that brings some bark to his game. Holloway could likely go in the middle rounds of the OHL draft in 2022, and will rely heavily on his improvements in his footwork alongside his growth to make it to the next level. Providing he cracks the OHL, Holloway could become a punishing force along the left side that will make a forward think twice before entering the offensive zone.
