Having been selected by London with the 97th overall pick, Joshua Lepain’s playstyle is one that many Knights fans will recognize. Lepain is a lethal forechecker who is very effective at being a pest and causing chaos for the opposing defensemen. Lepain works through strong hitting and a never give up attitude. Lepain has a tremendous offensive ability, coupling a large frame with good speed and puck protection, while also being more of a shooter. Lepain has also appeared with the Chatham Maroons of the GOJHL. What makes Lepain someone that Knights fans will recognize is the fact that his game is eerily similar to that of Matthew Tkachuk. This again is due to his highly physical and skilled style. Lepain tries to be extremely positive on and off the ice and tries to pick up his teammates when they are down, however he is considerably more tuned in and focused once the game starts. Lepain is currently working on being able to pick up the puck along the boards more effectively, which will help him keep up the momentum in the game as he continues to play. Lepain has his own boat detailing business, which he works with during his off time to help cover hockey expenses, showing how mature this young player is already. Lepain also enjoys fishing and drag racing as well. Lepain is honoured to be a Knight and is looking forward to joining the team at camp, where he can step in as a strong power forward in the teams top 6 for many years to come.
