Left shooting centreman, Charlie Arend, is a player that brings a lot of versatility to his game. Despite being a centre, Arend has shown the ability to play and succeed as a defenseman as well, proving that his versatility makes him a bit of a wildcard for his team. Arend has great hands, and sees the ice very well, and this has helped him become a very good two way centreman. Arend is very responsible at both ends of the ice, and can use his speed to aid him in any scenario, while also playing his best hockey at speed. Arend can always be seen scanning the ice for openings, however he could work on his pacing a little bit. Arend can be selfish with the puck at times, and it’s a flaw that he must recognize if he wants to progress further. This is most likely something that can come with age. Arend is a quieter player, who is very polite and respectful, well spoken, and very humble. Arend should definitely get some looks as the draft day grows closer, and could prove to be a nice addition to any team's roster. Only time will tell for Arend, but if he plays in the OHL, he could be solid.
