One of the top goalies in Alliance and the age group, Hayden Duncan has taken huge steps forward this past year with his entire game. A technically sound goalie, Hayden has great footwork and has great fundamentals. He reads the play developing in front of him better than most goalies his age and better than most older too. His conditioning and speed is an asset. He uses it in combination with his aforementioned play reading and his efficient rebound control to make big saves and recover from any change in direction the puck may make on the way to him. His save selection has gotten much better as it’s been an area he’s worked hard at and he’s consistently making an effort to communicate with his defenders. Like most young goalies Hayden is still working at puck handling and puck moving but due to his high work ethic and dedication to perfecting his craft these will develop swimmingly with experience. He is a calming presence in goal for his team and someone they trust to make big saves when they need it and for a young goalie that says a lot. Like most young goalies experience and off ice dedication are crucial to Hayden’s development however his natural skill and known work ethic it’s easy to predict he’ll be an impactful goalie on whatever team he plays for.
