One of the top talents of the SCTA, Hunter McKenzie is quite possibly one of the most OHL ready players in the 2022 OHL draft. McKenzie has always been seen as one of the most feared players in the SCTA, thanks to his booming OHL grade shot, his tremendous speed, and his ability to see plays unfold. McKenzie is a natural leader, who can drive his team in practice and garners a lot of respect from his teammates. McKenzie is already the size of most OHLers, and works out routinely with professionals. McKenzie has amazing skills with the puck, both with his hands and his shot, which allows him to score from almost anywhere. McKenzie is quite literally the complete package when it comes to forwards… big, strong, fast, and a knack to hit the net. McKenzie is more than capable of using his speed to great effectiveness, as when he gets up to speed, barely anyone can catch him. Despite his size, McKenzie is also quite shifty. McKenzie has most recently been seen playing with the Listowel Cyclones of the GOJHL, where he is continuing to put up great numbers. McKenzie will be amongst the top players to go in the draft, and has been widely considered as a consensus top 10 pick by rival coaches. This almost ensures that McKenzie should be featured somewhere in the first round, where he could likely step into the OHL almost immediately.
