As a young goaltender, Jack Travers already has the vision of a promising future in hockey.
Travers has been playing hockey for the past three years, filling in on a goalie rotation until he decided to take up the position full-time this season. He has consistently been working both on and off the ice everyday to perfect his positioning, hand/eye coordination, skating and many other skills.
His work ethic and drive to be the best is something that is very evident and is important in a young goalie, as it will only develop and get stronger over time. One of Tarvers biggest accomplishments to date is winning the Massachusetts Elite 9 Championship in his first year as a starter. He models his game after the young Jeremy Swayman of the Boston Bruins, a young goaltender in the NHL who seems to have a bright future.
He is a hard worker who is motivated by being the guy that the team can count on. He is the last line of defense before the puck hits the back of the net, so it is very important that he consistently works hard to make sure he is on top of his game, day in and day out.
Travers also plays lacrosse and baseball, showing he is skilled in many sports that require a high amount of skill and finesse at a high intensity.
The sky's the limit for Travers, as he continues to improve and progress as a goaltender, it will be exciting to see what the future holds.
