Amongst some of the players who were selected for the GTHL Top Prospects game, Jay Feldberg will most likely be selected in the first few rounds of the 2022 OHL draft. Feldberg, who is a natural centreman, is the type of heavy playing forward that every team would want as a perfect complimentary piece to their star players. Feldberg tends to take a very analytical approach to his game, allowing him to see things unfold long before they do. Feldberg is also a more tenacious and determined player on the ice, with an absolutely relentless drive to get the job done. His style thus is best reflected in the game of Zach Hyman, who plays a very similar big and tenacious game. Feldberg’s game has even helped him see time with the OJHL’s Toronto Jr Canadiens, where he has appeared in one game. This again is what will help make Feldberg shine in the OHL, as he doesn’t need to be the guy the the spotlight all the time, and instead would work best as a complimentary piece, who can drive the play with his tenaciousness, battling hard for pucks and driving hard in the corners. This style would help make Feldberg a perfect fit as either a third line checking forward, or even a top 6 guy, who can slot in with the top players. Coming into the draft, Feldberg could look to try and bulk up over the offseason and next season before stepping into the OHL, where he will serve as a vital part of any team that brings him in.
