Power-forward, Joshua Colosimo is a hard hitting, tough opponent. Joshua, already tall for his age and continuing to grow, gets into the dirty areas of the ice and comes away with the puck. He uses his size and strength to win puck battles all over the ice and is not afraid to be the first player in the corners or battle for position in front of the net. Playing on the powerplay, Joshua’s role is to get in front of the goalie and use his wicked hand eye coordination to deflect goals and receive rebounds. He wins netfront battles seemingly without breaking a sweat and is constantly in front of the goalie making the game more difficult for the opposing team. Not only does Joshua forecheck hard, but he’s also a strong backchecker, he uses his body to force opponents off the puck and stick checks well breaking up developing plays in the neutral and defensive zones. He’s also very good positionally, playing both center and wing, he knows where to be and when to be there to shut down opponents and help his team get out of the defensive zone quickly. He is definitely a complete player and if he continues to work on his skating he’ll be a dreaded player to play against in the OHL sooner rather than later.
