Now preparing to join his new team, the Windy City Storm for the 2021/22 season, right shooting Joshua Sardo is aiming to be like his idol, Patrick Kane. Sardo is a player who is determined to play, and is willing to push himself to the limit to make it somewhere in hockey. Acting like a natural born leader, Sardo is a player who likes to motivate his teammates on and off the ice with his work ethic, pushes his teammates to never give up and to play their best, and always shows up with a smile on his face. Sardo plays with heart, and despite his smaller stature, has no problem going deep in the corners, and is willing to play more like he is 6’6 versus 5’6. Sardo displays great edgework, while also displaying great stickhandling skills, above average vision and is able to utilize his hard shot to score goals, which helped him tally up 58 points in 65 games this season, 23 of which were goals. Despite this, Sardo is not a selfish player, and will make high end plays and crisp passes to his teammates to help set them up. Sardo has a superb knowledge of the game, and is a player who is willing to lay it on the line and take initiative, whether that be blocking a shot or working to get the winning goal. Sardo is patient, and is capable of setting up great plays on the power play and penalty kill. Sardo alsp plays the game very well under pressure, even with the puck. With all these skills, the two big things for Sardo to work on are his edgework, as that can always get better, but also his strength and conditioning, which can come with age. Sardo’s future goals are to make a career out of hockey at the highest level he can, while working to be the next Patrick Kane.
