Like most small forwards, Michael Hage is very quick, agile and smart. Hage’s greatest attribute is by far his skating. His pristine edgework, and excellent first three powerful strides allow him to be a quick, overwhelming player. He uses his hands with his speed to blow by defenders and create numerous scoring chances. Michael utilizes his hands on his shot as well creating dominant deception angles making it near impossible for the goalies to predict where his shot is going. When you combine the deception angles with his very quick release the goalie stands no chance at saving the puck when Michael has room. Michael uses his smarts in all three zones, something a lot of young players fail to do. This allows him to seemingly always be in position and frequently forces opposing teams to turnover the puck by predicting where it's going and taking the correct angles to chase down opponents. In his own zone his positioning and hard work allows him to be effective despite being on the smaller side. Like many young players Michael is expected to grow and fill out a lot more which will only make him a better player in all aspects. With strength his shot will get harder and become a deadly asset as well as with size he will be more equipped to play against the larger players within the league and protect the puck more effectively. Michael is known around the rink to be a very outgoing and talkative kid, and is well respected by his peers. If Micheal works hard to gain strength and size, he has the potential to be a game changing forward at the next level.
