Coming from a hockey family, with his father being former NHLer, Martin Lapointe, left shooting defender, Noah Lapointe, has had an exposure to hockey his whole life. Lapointe is described as a very dependable defenseman who is great at reading the game. Lapointe has great vision on the ice and plays a very solid two way game. He has a high compete level and is great at picking his options. Lapointe brings a certain presence to the team, both on and off the ice, and has a great hockey IQ. While he is already a strong skater and strong in general, Lapointe could continue to develop these skills more as he gets older. OHL wise, it is uncertain where Lapointe could fall, but his skill set could prove useful for a team who is looking for a young, reliable defenseman. With the restrictions being a bit less restrictive in the USA, Lapointe has had the ability to develop more over the course of this season, joining his team in tournaments and exhibition games, which will give him a huge step up on the other players who may have been impacted by the current pandemic.
